For the Beef:
 1 lb (450g) beef flank steak, thinly sliced
 1/4 cup cornstarch, for coating
 Vegetable oil, for deep frying
For the Marinade:
 1 tablespoon soy sauce
 1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
 1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil
 1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
 Zest of 1 orange
 2 tablespoons soy sauce
 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
 1/4 cup brown sugar
 1/4 cup brown sugar
 1 inch ginger, minced
 1 tablespoon cornstarch, dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
 Red pepper flakes or dried chili (optional, for heat)
Additional Ingredients:
 Green onions, chopped for garnish
 Sesame seeds, for garnish

Marinate the Beef:

Combine the beef slices with soy sauce, rice wine, and sesame oil. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Prepare the Orange Sauce:

In a saucepan, combine orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
Add the cornstarch slurry to the sauce, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens. Set aside.

Coat the marinated beef slices in cornstarch.
Heat the oil in a deep fryer or a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry the beef slices in batches until crispy and golden. Drain on paper towels.
