 4 large green tomatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick
 1 cup all-purpose flour
 1 cup buttermilk
 1 cup cornmeal
 1 teaspoon salt
 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
 Vegetable oil for frying

Season the tomato slices with salt and pepper on both sides.

Place the flour, buttermilk, and cornmeal in three separate shallow dishes.
